A fundraiser for the " SAGOT KO PAMASAHE MO"
program for qualified indigent students of Baguio City
VTA shall spear head its corporate social responsibility to the next level of giving and sharing the blessings that we continue to receive thru its VTA Foundation, Inc. A fun golf for a cause for our “SAGOT KO PAMASAHE MO” program. An initiative to provide daily fares for a whole school year for well deserving college students that are in need due to lack of resources for their transportation to and from home and school. A portion of the proceeds will also be given to provide assistance to local farmers of Baguio City for their fertilizers and herbicidal needs.
During times of disaster such as the Typhoon Pepeng, the foundation distributed about 1800 food packs and used clothes as relief goods for the typhoon victims and fed about 1000 volunteer rescuers. The Foundation likewise extends assistance by endorsing request letters seeking financial help due to medical reasons to various government agencies(DSWD,PCSO,PAGCOR), Senators and Congressmen, etc. who could address their concerns.
Last October, 2009, areas of Baguio City and La Trinidad was badly hit by typhoon Pepeng. Hundreds of people died and several thousands lost their homes.
VTA Foundation thru it’s own efforts, implemented relief operations to the typhoon victims and donated food for the volunteer rescuers at the landslide areas. Further, the officers of VTA Foundation launched a fund campaign to further support the Foundation’s relief efforts.
The cash collections from this fund campaign amounted to Thirty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Pesos Only(P 38,500.00/xx). These amount was used to produce food packages containing rice, canned goods, noodles, pandesal, water, etc. for the typhoon victims and sandwich and juice for the rescuers. Likewise, the Foundation received donations in kind particularly in form of used clothes and canned goods. The Foundation was able to reach out to areas such as the following:
